Starting salary for a sales analyst in Asset Management?   »   Paginate

Hi,
Does anyone have an idea about the starting salary for a sales analyst within asset management (institutional sales) in London at a bank like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs or UBS? Is it much lower than for IBD or markets?

Thank you!

basic salary is more or less the same across all divisions. it's the bonus that differs. IBD bonus could be substantial if you had a good year, markets bonus again depends on your personal performance, for the first few years, expect a lower bonus than those in IBD.

Hehe:) Guess it could be seen as more of an investment than AM sales though in terms of exit options etc.

I searched the forum for AM analyst salaries, and found old posts stating numbers around 28-30 k per year. So if it basically should be the same as in IBD or markets, it must be too low?

Edit: Found a more recent post - "36k-40k base, 5k sign on, bonus really depends." That sounds more reasonable...

choosing to work in IBD is not just a job choice, but also a lifestyle choice, which certainly doesn't appeal to me. Personally, I have never sent 1 app for IBD jobs. I had internship exp in markets and enjoyed it, but couldn't imagine that this would be the rest of my life, so I quitted.
